Jeffrey D. Jones
As a teenager, Jeff vividly recalls his first experience with Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser:
“It was magical. I’ll never forget the simple-to-understand, yet sometimes hard-to-execute, concepts Dr. Tim brought that day. It started me on a journey to understand what makes us tick.”
In the Summer of 2000, Jeff was asked to present a six-hour session at the Texas Tech Band and Orchestra Camp.
“I remember being so excited and saying: ‘yes, Yes, YES!’ …WHAT DO I DO NOW!?”
By divine appointment, Jeff ran across a copy of John Maxwell’s fantastic book Developing the Leader with You in his father-in-law’s study. Maxwell’s book, along with others by Zig Ziglar, Stephen Covey, Lou Holtz, Ken Blanchard, and more, set Jeff in motion to create a curriculum that drew on the wisdom of these greats as well as well-known educators such as Scott Coulson, Bob Bryant, Anthony Gipson, and many more.
Jeff enjoys every opportunity to share his passion for leadership, personal growth, and high achievement with students of all ages and all walks of life. He is proud to host Leadership Seminars with small and larger groups, private sessions, student groups, staff developments, and faith-based groups as his schedule allows. Away from his active schedule as an adjudicator, clinician, and teacher, Mr. Jones can be found driving with the greats of our profession in his (wife’s) Honda Odyssey Minivan. Jeff holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education (Summa Cum Laude) from Texas Tech University and a Masters of Music (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of North Texas and is entering his third decade as a music educator. He resides in Highland Village, Texas, with his beautiful wife, Bethany. Mrs. Jones is also a music educator in Lewisville ISD and holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Texas Tech University as well as a Masters in Secondary Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce. The Joneses are blessed with three children: Caitlyn, Esther, and Seth.
